Why Cooper

Warranty

Up To 80,000km Mileage Warranty

We are so confident in our tyres that we offer you a mileage warranty of up to 80,000km depending on the tyre size and pattern that you purchase.

What is covered by my Mileage Warranty and for how long?

Cooper Tires Mileage Warranty is available nationally.

An authorised Cooper Tires retailer has the right to refuse or vary the mileage warranty at their discretion based on the road conditions and geographic influences encountered in their local area or the intended use of the tyres. Although, the mileage you obtain in a country area may be less due to its specific conditions, the life expectancy of Cooper tyres should be greater compared to many other competitor brands under the same conditions.

The Mileage Warranty does not cover tyres bought for vehicles for commercial use (Taxi or Hire Vehicles).

The Mileage Warranty is a pro-rata warranty. The amount covered will be determined by multiplying the consumer’s original purchase price by the percentage of the kilometre shortfall. The kilometre shortfall is the difference between the kilometres guaranteed and the kilometres achieved. You are responsible for all costs associated with making a claim under this warranty including the cost of mounting, balancing and any additional charges or your acceptance of a higher priced replacement tyre.

Most Cooper tyres are guaranteed to last from 50,000 – 80,000km depending on size and tread pattern, and subject to normal usage in on and off-road situations. As a general rule, mud tyres (STT PRO), and the UHP range (RS3-G1) do not come with specific mileage guarantees, however, the life expectancy of these tyres should be greater compared to many other competitor brands under the same conditions.

The regular care and maintenance of your wheel alignment, brakes, suspension and wheels are crucial to the performance and wear of your Cooper tyres; for this reason, you must return your vehicle to an authorised Cooper Tires retailer each 10,000km for an inspection of these items.

During each inspection, the authorised Cooper Tires retailer will perform a free diagnosis to establish whether a tyre service is required. If a tyre service is not required, the retailer will sign your service card at no cost.

If a tyre service is required, a charge will apply for this. Your warranty is subject to this as well as the correction of any fault found in your vehicle which may affect tyre wear.

Does my mileage warranty cover manufacturing faults?

No, manufacturing faults are covered by the Cooper Tires Manufacturer’s Warranty. See below for more information.

Please see our Warranty FAQs for full terms and conditions.

Manufacturer’s Warranty

Your Cooper tyres are also guaranteed against manufacturing faults for a period of 72 months from date of purchase or for the tread life of the tyre, whichever is earlier.

Cooper Tires will remedy defects in materials and workmanship by paying the cost of replacing the tyre on a pro-rata basis (calculated by multiplying your original purchase price by the percentage of original tread depth remaining on the tyre). You are responsible for all costs associated with making a claim under this warranty including the cost of mounting, balancing and any additional charges or your acceptance of a higher priced replacement tyre.

TREAD LIFE

When the tread becomes worn down to 1.6mm (shown by tread wear indicators moulded into the tread grooves) the tyre is worn out and this warranty ends.

REPLACEMENT CHARGE

Cooper’s manufacturer warranty is a pro-rata warranty. The replacement charge will be determined by multiplying the consumer’s original purchase price by the percentage of original tread depth worn from the tyre. The consumer must pay for mounting, balancing and any other additional charges, or the acceptance by the consumer of a higher-priced replacement tyre.

What is not covered by the Manufacturer’s Warranty?

This warranty does not cover product defects caused by factors beyond the control of the manufacturer such as:

  • This warranty does not cover tyres that become unserviceable due to conditions resulting from road hazards, such as cuts, snags or punctures.
  • Conditions resulting from improper installation, wheel misalignment or tyre/wheel assembly imbalance.
  • Conditions resulting from consumer damage, such as improper tyre and vehicle maintenance, misuse, abuse and accident.
  • Passenger car tyres used in any commercial application (including taxi or hire vehicles).
  • Ride complaints after the first 1mm tread wear.
  • Ozone or weather cracking on tyres over four (4) years from date of purchase OR tyres that are worn to 1.6mm tread depth, whichever comes first.

This warranty is given by the manufacturer, Cooper Tires, and its distributors Exclusive Tyre Distributors Pty Ltd, National Tyre Wholesalers Pty Ltd, Exclusive Tyre Distributors NZ Ltd and Cotton Tyre Service.

To claim under the Manufacturer’s Warranty, you must have proof of purchase or a receipt and call Exclusive Tyre Distributors Pty Ltd (AUS) on 1800 681 298 or Exclusive Tyre Distributors NZ 0800 453 278.

The benefits under this Manufacturer’s Warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies under a law in relation to the goods.

Lifetime Free Replacement Warranty

Cooper Tires car tyre range comes with an Australia-wide lifetime replacement warranty against manufacturing faults for the life of the tyre. This means if you experience any manufacturing faults during the tread life of the tyre, it will be replaced at no charge with a new tyre of the same size and pattern.

You are however responsible for all costs associated with making a claim under this warranty including the cost of mounting, balancing and any additional charges or your acceptance of a higher priced replacement tyre.

All other terms and conditions apply as per the Manufacturer’s Warranty. See above for more information.
