5 Australian Road Trips

Don’t you love taking a scenic road trip with friends and family, and seeing some of the best scenery this country has to offer?

Here are 5 great road trips that you should consider for your next adventure.

Great Ocean Road, Victoria

Take a trip on the Great Ocean Road, and check out the stunning rock formations. It is located in Victoria and about a 3-hour car ride from the city centre of Melbourne.

Red Centre Way, Northern Territory

Visiting the outback is a must when it comes to road trips, and if you want to do something that isn’t the “usual” outback road adventure check this out. It is about 1100km ring from Alice Springs.

75 Mile Highway, Fraser Island, Queensland

Fraser Island is a staple for Queensland 4x4ers. It is 75 miles of sprawling sand beaches across Fraser Island, and make sure you check the times of tides fluctuations so your vehicle doesn’t get swallowed! Expect around a 5-hour car ride if leaving from Brisbane.

Sydney to Jervis Bay, New South Wales

This is around a 2 ½ trip between the two cities, and you will start your Grand Pacific Drive and have the opportunity to see the Royal National Park and Sea Cliff Bridge.

The Nullarbor Plain, South Australia & Western Australia

Many might deem this as a boring driving, and a whole lot of nothing. However, some people love the openness and the quietness of the country. If you wanted to do the whole 1200km journey from Ceduna to Norseman it would take you roughly 12 – 13 hours.

Whichever of these great Australian road trips you choose to take, remember to drive safely and make sure you pick the right tyres for your car or SUV.
