Cooper ST-C
I've
been field-checking Hema Maps for over 10 years and we are now onto our
fourth vehicle. I've tried many different brands of tyre in that time but
they all seem to suffer the same problem - tread chipping. Some tyres didn't
make it passed the 20,000km mark before they had to be replaced as the tread
was chipped to pieces.
Chipping has been a very common problem for tyres on Australia's rocky outback roads, especially on the rear of the vehicle where most of the load is carried. We are thankful that Cooper have worked hard to solve this and have now released the new ST-C series of all-terrain tyre with a special compound designed for majority dirt and gravel road driving. Our Map Patrol clocks up about 50,000 a year on the most tyre-testing roads in the country. The new set of Cooper ST-C's have already clocked up over 30,000km in outback Qld and still look as good as new - and with no sign of chipping! They've been so good I've started to wonder if we still need to carry two spares, as so far we haven't needed one! Cooper ST-C's strong construction, big block tread and special compound, gives us the confidence to adjust our tyre pressures to suit the conditions without fear of tyre damage. I couldn't think of ever changing to another brand of tyre! Rob Boegheim |
