6 Years using Cooper 4WD Tyres Duncan's Off Road Driver Training & Tours 14 April 2000 Dear Terry, Over the last four years we've travelled up to Cape York and back approximately 80 times with Cooper Tires. I wanted to let you know that Cooper Tires are very seriously respected in our group. They are the only tyres that can stand up to the work we put them through. As you know, we travel through extreme terrain - rocks, mud, sand, water crossings. These are the worst roads you've ever seen. One 40 km stretch takes us six hours. The roads are so bad, oil will boil in the shock absorbers, roof racks don't last past Moreton Telegraph and trailers don't make it. But our Coopers always do. We lead nine vehicles at a time up to the Cape and back. In a season, we'd lead 180 vehicles. We need tyres that give us reliability under arduous conditions. It's the bit that hits the deck that counts and that's the rubber. We've found Coopers to be excellent in the real rough stuff and when you're in low range and have to climb steep hills and go through river crossings. I have towed 19 vehicles through a river crossing. My Coopers just kept pulling. I wouldn't have been able to do it without Coopers. Each of the 19 times, I was pulling a vehicle at the same time as climbing a steep hill. One trip we towed a vehicle for three days over pretty rough terrain. The other thing we've found is that Cooper Tires walk their way through rocks. On one trip I led nine new vehicles all with new popular brand tyres. Well, there were five flat tyres in 10 days. But my Coopers kept going. And one of them was filled with nails and screws. I was so busy repairing other people's tyres, I didn't have time to fix mine and then I forgot about it. I drove on it from Darwin to Brisbane - over 6,000 kms. When I got home, I realised I'd forgotten about it. So I just fixed it right then and there and it's still on my vehicle now. Cooper Tires have never given us any trouble. Once I put a stick through the sidewall of one. I brought the tyre home, patched it and put it back on the vehicle for the rest of the season. I don't know another tyre that could do that. But then I don't know another tyre like Cooper Tires. I look forward to seeing you when I'm ready to purchase my next set of Cooper Tires. Yours sincerely, Bob Duncan |
