More Mileage From New Cooper ATR

Testing of the new Cooper ATR tyre pattern has confirmed an increase of up to 26.7% more kilometres compared to the previous A/T design. Cooper Tires now offer a mileage guarantee of up to 90,000 km for the new ATR 4WD tyre (conditions and exceptions apply).

An across Australia and return 4WD test conducted by Exclusive Tyres personnel, in conjunction with 4WD tour operator, Bob Duncan, revealed the benefits of the new ATR tyre design. The trip went cross country from Byron Bay in N.S.W to Cape Cuvier in W.A. and return, using outback tracks such as the Gunbarrel Highway, Simpson Desert, Canning Stock Route and the Anne Beadell track.

Further testing has been conducted in W.A.’s rugged Pilbara region by other Exclusive Tyres personnel. The test drivers, Rob Keilar and Brad Smith, praised the ATR’s performance on all types of road surfaces including bitumen, rocky outback roads, sandy 4WD tracks and muddy, gravel roads. They were impressed by the steering response at higher speeds, plus the traction on rough 4WD tracks with lower tyre pressures to suit the conditions.

Cooper’s new ATR features the latest in 4WD tyre technology, which gives ultimate performance coupled with a tyre that is more puncture resistant, meaning flat tyres are at a minimum. The deeper tread ensures a longer tyre life and the lack of road noise means comfortable travelling on the highway.

The ATR is available in 16, 17 and 20 inch sizes, to suit most popular 4WDs.
